Frieseomelitta (Alas Blancas) Being identified

Scientific name: Frieseomelitta paupera

Probable identification; we will confirm it through our genomic research.

Type: Native stingless bee (Meliponini)

Found at: El Silencio Natural Reserve

Native stingless bees that build no combs: they store their honey in small oval pots of cerumen and resin. We work only with colonies that came on their own to trap nests.
